National Space Centre Staff Win Training Award
An out of this world team!

Last week the National Space Centre was awarded the Company Training Award as part of the Leicester College Awards to Industry.

Presented to the Personnel Manager, Sarah Bird and Front of House Manager, Rebecca Amey, at an Industry Breakfast on 7 June 2011, the award highlighted the Centre’s commitment to providing vital work experience placements for Leicester College’s Travel and Tourism students.

The annual awards have been established to recognise companies who make a contribution to the College through industry links.

The businesses and organisations nominated provide essential support for education and training by donating materials and equipment, or by providing work experience opportunities for Leicester College learners.

Leicester College celebrates its links with industry every summer with its annual Awards to Industry ceremony.

The businesses and organisations nominated provide essential support for education and training by donating materials and equipment, or by providing work experience opportunities for Leicester College learners.

This year’s 41 winning companies also included Dulux, HSBC and John Lewis, who all received awards in recognition of their support for the College.

Leicester College Principal, Maggie Galliers, said: “The College is extremely proud of its links with industry. By being given the opportunity to gain experience in a real working environment, and to work with industry-standard equipment, out learners are getting the best and most useful preparation for working life.”
