Space Centre Wins Large Visitor Attraction of the Year Award
For the second time in three years the National Space Centre has scooped the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year Award at the East Midlands Excellence Awards.

Awarded by the BBC One Shows Des Coleman, the National Space Centre picked up the “tourism Oscar” at a black tie dinner, attended by over 300 of the regions top tourism executives.

The award comes just three months after the launch of the new Rocket Tower experience celebrating the 40th anniversary of the lunar landings and a brand new Space Theatre show made right here at the Centre, showing how Leicester’s largest visitor attraction is going from strength to strength.

Malika Andress, Marketing Manager at the National Space Centre said; “This award is a great achievement for the whole team at the National Space Centre.  We always strive to provide the best visitor experience to every person who we welcome through our doors.  Winning the award means we can continue to develop the National Space Centre and ensure that every visitor really does have an experience that is out of this world!”

The National Space Centre will now be in with a chance to go through to the national final of the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, which will take place next spring.

And the judges comments on the National Space Centre – “simply outstanding”.
