Can’t make it to Vancouver for the Winter Olympics?  Why not try out our very own Space Olympics right here in the heart of the UK…

This half-term period at the National Space Centre is so crammed full of things for visitors to enjoy that they may need to use their free Annual Pass to come back for a second or third visit to see it all!

From the moment people arrive there will meet our science buskers, who will entertain with amazing close up experiments to make comets and inflate marshmallow men!  For the younger visitors our friendly character Astronaut George will be out and about.

Inside the centre there will be opportunities for families to join in our Astronaut Training Trail and put themselves to the ultimate test to see if they have what it takes to become an Astronaut with the interactive gallery challenge.

Visitors will also be able to take a Tour of the Night Sky in the UK’s largest planetarium as our Space Crew lead you through the constellations you can see in the night sky tonight.  The shows are designed to help people understand exactly what they can see in their own back gardens if they look up at the night sky tonight.

Children will be invited to make their very own Astronaut George puppet in the craft sessions, while the whole family can take a seat in Space Now to Check out artifacts from our vaults, never before on show items!  An opportunity to get up close and personal with items such as real space food, a hammer used to repair the International Space Station, a glove used by an Astronaut on the MIR space station and even a mirror used in space by astronauts.

Add to all this the six hands-on galleries, over 150 interactives, inclusive Space Theatre show, unique 3D SIM ride and 42m high rocket tower and this is a visit that really will be out of this world.
