Pre-Planning
Decide the meeting /event purpose (Dinner, Team Building, Product Launch etc
Have a maximum budget
Consider the size of the event, gender mix, ages of attendees and any special needs i.e. dietary requirements
Determine meeting dates – avoid dates that coincide with other company or industry events or holiday periods – please note during term time the National Space Centre is closed on Mondays so you can exclusively hire the whole attraction
Are the dates and / or days of the week fixed or flexible?
Plan the meeting / event in advance – the earlier the better as we get booked up
Create an outline for the event / meeting – expected attendance, room layout, required set up, starting and ending times, catering requirements. Remember to schedule in any additional speakers
Do you registration desk and technical requirements?
Decide on food and beverage requirements for each part of the day – would you like breakfast rolls on arrival?
Consider transport needs – the National Space Centre is a short taxi / bus ride from the city centre. Please note all corporate delegates get free parking
Plan entertainment and recreation needs. Perhaps a team building exercise in Challenger Learning Centre.

Show round
We recommend visiting the National Space Centre Corporate and Hospitality facilities as no facility will look the same in person as it will on paper. Additionally visiting the venue allows you to get a sense of what we offer and the service you will receive as a corporate delegate.
Food and Beverage
Menu choices for both food and beverage have to be confirmed minimum one week before the event
At all events / meetings offering food and beverage, always allow enough time for guests to eat leisurely allowing them to network or socialize with colleagues/friends/family. An additional benefit to holding an event with the National Space Centre is we offer free tickets into our six interactive galleries plus you could upgrade this for an additional charge and allow your guests to visit our 360o Space Theatre shows. Please note the above is subject to date on booking your event – please ask for further information.
Generally allow 30 to 40 minutes for breakfast, 45 to 60 minutes for lunch and 20 minutes per course for dinner. For refreshment breaks allow a minimum of 15 minute per 100 guests.
Always offer a non – alcoholic beverage on drink receptions. The National Space Centre has a non alcoholic cocktail option.

Shuttle Suites
• Boardroom / Open Square – appropriate for interactive discussions
• U – Shape / Horseshoe – best for interaction with a leader seated or stood at the head of the set up
• Cabaret / Banqueting - Generally used for group work involving discussions
• Schoolroom / Classroom – this set up allows the speaker to lecture to guests and for guests to have an area for materials and to take notes
• Receptions – areas can be set as you require it i.e with or with out tables and chairs
• Theatre – appropriate for large sessions and is a convenient set up to use before breaking into discussion or role play in groups because the room can be moved around easy

Space Theatre
• Exclusive hire subject to booking

Evening configurations

Audio Visual Equipment
• All shuttle suites have built in LCD Projectors and Screens, speaker systems and WiFi access. Additional A V equipment is available at an additional charge – please see equipment hire for further details
• When booking an event / meeting with us you have a dedicated technician who will set up all you equipment and be available for any additional assistance. If you require technician to be present for the duration of your event and be dedicated to your requirements this would incur an hourly charge.
