10 - 11 MARCH

A celebration of all things science fiction and British! From the amazing puppets that brought the mind of Gerry Anderson to life, through the years of hiding behind the sofa from the Daleks and on to the monsters from Primeval, British Science Fiction has a lot to shout about, so come along and join in the fun.

> SATURDAY GUESTS

Chris Barrie - to his legions of fans across the world, Chris is best known as Rimmer – the Red Dwarf character who made love only once in his life. To others he is Hilary, Angelina Jolie’s butler in Tomb Raider; but to many he will forever be remembered as Gordon Brittas, the most irritating manager in the history of the British leisure centre industry.

Colin Baker is most well known for his role as The Doctor in the BBCs ever popular Doctor Who series between 1984-86.  He was the sixth actor to step into the Doctor's shoes and is the only actor to have previously appeared in the show as another character (he actually shot the fifth Doctor Peter Davidson).

Fraser Hines was cast in 1966 to play the part of Jamie McCrimmon, a companion of the Second Doctor (played by Patrick Troughton), a role he played until 1969.  In all he performed in 117 episodes of Doctor Who—more than any other "companion" actor in the history of the series.

MAT IRVINE - Visual Effects Designer
Mat will be joining us for the weekend and bringing some amazing original props from iconic British TV and films (including the original K9 from Doctor Who).  Mat is a long-time designer with the BBC Visual Effects Department, and although well-known for such programmes as Doctor Who and Blake's 7, he covered a wide range of others, including Tomorrow's World, Horizon and QED; the award-winning dramas, Edge of Darkness and The Singing Detective; kid's series such as Rent-A-Ghost; Galloping Galaxies and Space Vets  and comedies from Dave Allen to Are You being Served! He was also notorious for appearances on Saturday morning series such as Swap Shop and Super-Store. Co-authored the book 'BBC-VFX' with colleague Mike Tucker - and he still runs K-9 when required.
