Have you ever wanted to take part in a Space mission but are unable to make it to the National Space Centre? Now there is a simple way you can take part from your own classroom through an e-Mission or a Video Conference.

It is a great way to bring the National Space Centre to your school and doesn't necessarily require much equipment. With just a webcam, microphone, computer and a broadband connection, your students can work together to complete challenges and evacuate residents in danger, all coordinated through our Mission Commanders here at the National Space Centre.

Once you have booked your mission date we will arrange a free test connection to ensure your video conference runs smoothly.

An e-Mission is a simulated mission delivered through live video conferencing and data streams. Students in a classroom anywhere in the world can link up to the Mission Commander at the National Space Centre’s e-Mission Control using Video Conferencing and Internet Technology.

Below are some comments from previous students from Bishop Thomas Grant School:

"I gained a lot of confidence to speak to my fellow peers as Communications Officer and enjoyed myself at the same time!"

Year 9 Communication Officer

"I am so happy I got chosen for this wonderful experience, I gained lots of teamwork and communications skills. Also I enjoyed the suspense of the situation in hand."

Year 9 Data Officer

"I think that other people should try this because it was very hard under pressure but it made it all the more exciting"
