Movie Mania Madness

One of the events I have really loved hosting over the past four years is Movie Mania.  We get to work with the amazing 501st UK Garrison, Replica Prop Board and UKCM, all of whom give their time and efforts to raise money for charity.

The work these groups do always humbles me, in their dedication to perfection and the amount of effort they put in, not only to attend, but also to make the weekend special for every single visitor.

We have spent the last month on making sure the event is perfect and poor Jamie in the office has been given the thankless task of trying to talk to agents to get some real movie stars to bring the "icing on the cake" element to the weekend. This is without doubt the most difficult job and if only we had a hotline to speak with them all directly, I am sure there would be some that would want to support the fans, costumers and of course the charities that raise funds from this event.

I suppose it is too early to offer thanks, but for those of you who attended our Star Wars weekend in May and took part in the Jedi School you will be happy to know that the Jedi Master has had a word with his new friend (don't ask me how they met, this is Hollywood afterall and everthing is magic) Will Turner and it seems there will be a Pirate School for all the budding terrors of the high seas.  Thanks Mr Turner and all the Pirate helpers that are making this happen.

Mr Turner will not be the only one put to work over the weekend, as I have spoken with Mr Jones and it seems Indy is up for a treasure hunt if there are any willing helpers out there who want to join him?

I suppose that is one of the things that makes organising the events so great, you get to have fun with what characters can add to the visitors day out.  This year I am just trying to think what Mary Poppins and Austin Powers can do, so maybe some dancing will be called for... YEAH BABY, YEAH!
