Earth, Moon and Sun (Available as 1 or 2 box package - Key Stage 2 and 3)
The activities within these boxes cover the curriculum topics relating to the Earth’s position in the Solar System, the movement of the Earth around the Sun and the Moon’s orbit around the Earth. Box 1 includes scale pictures of the planets; appropriately sized spheres for looking at the comparative sizes of the Earth, Sun and Moon; transparencies; worksheets and information booklets on the planets and planetary exploration. Box 2 contains models including an Orrery (demonstrating the positions and movements of the planets) and a Tellurium (demonstrating the movement of the Earth and Moon relative to the Sun). Tactile Astronomy (Key Stage 3 and 4)
To assist visually impaired students this box has guidance notes on many astronomy related topics written in Braille. To supplement this there are tactile images and activities to enhance the material.
