Unforgettable Three Days of Discovery
The National Space Academy can facilitate a three day programme designed to inspire and encourage Year 9 and 10 students to study STEM subjects and to successfully work with students from neighbouring schools. Generally these events are organised to take place over a school holiday period.
Following the success of previous roadshows, the National Space Academy offers education providers, widening participation organisations and LEAs the opportunity to give 30 students an intensive, inspirational and engaging 3 days of Space focused learning.

Roadshow format:
Day one: Students participate in an intensive Physics masterclass. Here they learn about aspects of Space Science which are linked in with their studies and participate in exciting demonstrations and experiments.
Day two: Students visit the National Space Centre to explore the galleries, experience a full dome show in the Space Theatre and take part in a Challenger simulated space mission. Here the groups work in partnership with students from other schools to combine science, problem solving and teamwork skills to successfully complete their mission.
Day three: Students attend an intensive aerodynamics lesson followed by a trip to the Airkix vertical wind tunnel where they use indoor skydiving as a real life application of physics. The roadshow culminates with an awards ceremony that parents are invited to attend and reflection on the last three days of discovery.
