Over the summer holiday, the National Space Centre held a competition for young visitors to create their very own constellation story and artwork.

Everyone was inspired by different cultures all around the world and the stories people have made about the stars in the night sky.

We received over 100 fantastic entries for the competition this year and had the difficult task of choosing three winners. Thank you to everyone who took part. The National Space Centre team really enjoyed reading all your stories.

Discover the wonderful constellation stories from our three competition winners.

Foxy

Once there was a fox called Foxy. He always wanted to go to the Moon. His mum did not let him go out the house. One day he had a plan. Next day he put his plan into action. But, when he went to the door to open the door, his mum turned around. His mum said "Do not open that door!" The next day it was his birthday and his mum gave him a toy rocket. He decided to turn it into a real rocket and he blasted into space.

Nigel the Unicorn

Once there was a unicorn called Nigel. When an animal saw him it ran away without even saying their name! Nigel was so sad until he saw a fly. Nigel said "Hello, how are you?" "I am okay thanks" said the fly. "My name is Tim and you are?" "Oh I'm Nigel" and then they were best of friends. The End.
