Senior Event Sales Manager

The National Space Centre is seeking an experienced Senior Event Sales Manager to lead venue hire sales and oversee event coordination team at our state-of-the-art venue. This role involves managing the sales and coordination team to maximise potential revenue and ensure all events are executed to the highest standard. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the industry and the ability to cultivate and enhance client relationships.

Full Time 35 Hours a week. Fixed term maternity cover. Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm usually but can be variable dependent on meetings/events and appointments. Flexibility will be required, with some early morning / evenings and weekend work. Time off in lieu will be provided wherever possible.

Maternity Cover, fixed-term starting Monday 16th September for 12 months.

£35,000+ dependant on skills and experience

Space Crew Team Member (Full-Time)

The award-winning National Space Centre is a unique visitor attraction and education facility.  We are looking to recruit talented individuals to join our team in providing the best customer service in the industry.

Talented individuals are required to join our Space Crew.  As the ‘face of the Space Centre’ the multi-skilled role will incorporate all aspects of customer care, including ticketing, catering, retail and exhibition guide. 

Applicants should have proven experience within a customer-focused environment, working face-to-face with members of the public.  Experience of working within a leisure and tourism environment is an advantage.  You should have excellent communication skills and a flexible, adaptable, and willing attitude towards work.  A space science background is not necessary, but a commitment to be part of the team to deliver an excellent standard of service to the National Space Centre visitors is essential. 

Full-Time – 35 hours per week including weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays.  Flexibility of times will be required from you including occasional evenings.

Rate of pay is £11.90 per hour.

Events Crew Bar Team Leader (Casual)

Are you a highly organised and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic event environment? The National Space Centre currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Events Crew Bar Team Leader. In this role, you will be responsible supporting and leading the bar team from set-up, bar operations, service and close-down.

 

Applicants should have proven 1 years minimum experience within a team leader role and a minimum of 2 years experience of bar work. You should have excellent communication skills and a flexible, adaptable and willing attitude towards work.  Smart personal appearance and a passion for delivering high quality events are essential.

 

The role is casual.  Working hours vary but generally could start from 15:00 until the end of the event (potentially expected early hours of the morning) – the exact start and finish times will vary by event. There will be a requirement to work weekends during December due to Christmas Parties.

 

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be 18 years of age or above to be able to serve alcohol.

Security Commissionaire (Temporary)

The award-winning National Space Centre is a unique visitor attraction and education facility.  We are looking to recruit talented individuals to join our team in providing the best customer service in the industry

 

We are looking to recruit a professional Security Commissionaire to join our in-house Security Team, working to ensure the highest standard of safety and security for the employees and visitors of the National Space Centre. Applicants should have proven experience within a customer-focused environment, working face-to-face with members of the public, and using automated building systems.

Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week.  The position requires a flexible and positive attitude towards work, with regular early and late shifts, occasional night shifts and regular weekend working. Please note that this is a temporary 6-month contract.

A full checkable work history is required.
