Conference & Events Co-ordinator

The National Space Centre is seeking a Conference & Events Coordinator who will be responsible for the co-ordination of all confirmed venue hire bookings to the point of delivery, including our out-of-hours events and internal events. We are looking for someone with an outgoing personality to share their passion for the hospitality industry in delivering excellent service that consistently goes beyond our client’s expectations.

You should be motivated by client satisfaction and enjoy the challenge of organising a variety of events. The ideal candidate will be extremely organised, experienced in multi-tasking in a highly pressurised environment with competing deadlines. They will be an excellent communicator, have exceptional attention to detail and the passion to go the extra mile for our customers. The candidate will be joining a passionate team that strives for excellence and who work and support each other to ensure every event is a success.

35 hours per week. These will normally be from Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00, but there will be a requirement for some evening, weekend and bank holiday work according to the needs of the team. Time off in lieu will be granted accordingly

Experience required: minimum 5 years

From £30,000 per annum dependent on experience

Community Engagement Manager

The award winning National Space Centre is looking for a talented individual to continue to develop, coordinate, and deliver a new community engagement programme in Leicester to engage local families and young people with space science, and break down barriers to engagement with the National Space Centre.

Key responsibilities include continuing to build relationships with local groups and the Leicester City Council Neighbourhood Services team in order to reduce barriers to engagement and create tailor-made programmes to inspire people from a range of backgrounds. To work with the City Council Neighbourhood Services team, University of Leicester, and others to schedule and develop a programme of community engagement. To line manage, community engagement officers and presenters, and to train the wider presenter team in best practice and activities for community engagement, with a focus on quality assurance and evaluation.

Hours: 35 hours per week. These will normally be from Monday to Friday but there will be a requirement for some evening, weekend and bank holiday work according to the needs of the team. Time off in lieu will be granted accordingly. Occasional travel offsite as and when required.

Salary: £34,485 - £37,305 dependent upon skills and experience.
